Safety

CEC’s primary concern is safe work practices of its employees, ensuring the prevention of injury or death to personnel and loss of property. We believe a safe work culture consist of an engaged Senior management team, mandatory adherence to safety procedures and management and employee participation in its Safety Committee meetings.

In 2014, CEC created a Safety Committee consisting of senior management, safety leaders, and members of its trade force. This committee was established to review current job specific safety audits, and discuss suggested policy changes gaining agreement at all levels of the company to enhance the speed at which our personnel buy-in to new or modified procedures when rolled out to the field.

Our employees are trained regularly by our Safety Director and also through our safety partner Alliance Safety. Daily and weekly job site safety meetings are conducted and include immediate hazards and concerns. CEC’s Safety Director and field supervisors monitor their employees, equipment, environment and other conditions through the use the Safe Task Plan (STP). The STP provides our craft people with a tool to assist in identifying hazards associated with each task they perform. This is reviewed by our field supervisors prior to work commencing. This process is monitored by CEC’s Safety Director for additional improvement or identification of additional training that may be required to safely complete each task.

CEC maintains a database of employee training and our employees are tested regularly to measure their understanding of our expectations, responsibility and attitude to enhance their personal safety. We consider it a critical success factor for our personnel to enhance their knowledge each year refining their skills, and keep abreast of the latest technological advancements in our field
